10 Pilates Ring Exercises for Beginners
Follow these exercises with your pilates ring (10–15 reps per set, 2–3 sets). Exhale on the effort, inhale on the release. Use a mat for extra comfort.
1. Inner Thigh Squeeze (Inner thighs & core)
Sit with bent knees, ring between your thighs. Squeeze for 5 seconds, release slowly. Targets: adductors and deep abdominal muscles.
2. Chest Press (Chest & arms)
Lie on your back, hold the ring vertically in front of your chest. Press your arms outward against the resistance, return slowly.
3. Bridge Squeeze (Glutes & core)
Place the ring horizontally between your knees in bridge position. Lift your hips, squeeze the ring. Hold for 3 seconds, then lower.
4. Arm Circles (Shoulders & stability)
Stand upright, hold the ring horizontally in front of your chest. Make small circles forward and backward – 10 times in each direction.
5. Roll Up with Ring (Abs & spine)
Lie on your back with the ring resting on your abdomen. Roll up with a squeeze, reach toward your toes. Roll back down with control.
6. Side Leg Lift (Hips & outer thigh)
Lie on your side, ring between your ankles. Lift the top leg, hold for 2 seconds. Switch sides.
7. Plank Press (Full body)
